Where did the weekend go?

I hardly think it's fair how short the weekends are. Isnt there any way that we can add a day onto the weekend? What would that take?

MOLE DAY!!!!

So, mole day was a huge success.....I got all into it, we listened to mole songs and played mole games..did mole projects...my room was full of mole day balloons, temporary tattoos....went CRAZY!!! and of course, I have to really buy into it for my kids to buy into it!! they think i am such a dork, I love it!

Byron Buzz

So, I didn't make it to the Homecoming game in Byron-- sick baby... and I am glad I didnt. I guess it was one thing after another. First, Buena Vista was late and the game didnt start until 45min to an hour after it was supposed to. Then at some point during the game, some 'young kids'-- as it was stated in the news-- approached the chief of police saying they saw a man drag young kids into the woods. So, police and emergency agencies were contacted and searched the woods behind the bleachers and they locked down the area until they made sure that all kids were accounted for. Helicopters were deployed to the area to search and no one was reported missing...strange....and it said that the kids who went to the chief of police were upset and crying...so were people playing around and the kids mistook what happenned? or was it made up? I really hope it wasnt made up..time, money, and resources were used-- it's horrible to think someone might make something like that up!

End of Homecoming Week

From one crazy week to another...end of the marking period last week and homecoming this week. Thank God both are over!! I love how there are just a few of us teachers that get anything accomplished this week. On another note, Thursday of next week is Mole Day.. I have been preparing my chemistry students for this week....telling corny jokes and all kinds of stuff to get them ready for the week...i have to really buy into it if i want them to so I am the CHEESIEST and tell the CORNIEST jokes ever but its good to let them laugh at you/with you!

End of Marking Period 1!!!

So, why is it that everything always seems to happen at the same time? Emma's first birthday/baptism was last weekend and now it's the end of the marking period. Teaching would be so much easier without having to grade anything! If only....in an ideal world maybe.... And as always, the kid who hasn't turned in a homework assignment all marking period wonders why he/she is failing...."What can I do to raise my grade??" Well, I am one of those teachers who does NOT accept late work..so then administration is like, "Can't you do anything to help this student out?" No, actually, I can't...he/she decided not to do anything for the last 6 weeks...so....no.....

And not that I am biased or anything..but women wear SOOOOO many hats...wife, mom, teacher, counselor, confidant, student, professional....maybe I should just quit my job =).. yeah... in an ideal world..but then I'd probably be too bored..so yeah, typical woman i guess.. can't have it both ways....=)
